Lake McDonald | Glacier
It’s very difficult to explain the expanse and epic nature of Glacier National Park to someone who has not been. Surrounded by prominent mountain peaks in all directions, it is even more difficult to encapsulate it in a photograph.
Such is the case with Lake McDonald, which stretches 10 miles in length and a mile in width, and is one of the first things visitors to the park will be greeted by if using the west entrance.
This photo was a particularly serene moment for me, having driven all day. After setting up camp, I was able to walk a short distance to the lakes edge where I photographed in solitude during the setting sun.
